U.S. Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine have joined Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) and other colleagues in introducing legislation to make Washington, D.C. the 51st state. The Washington, D.C. Admission Act would grant D.C. citizens full congressional representation.

Amy Ashworth, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County, has announced the successful prosecution in the Prince William County Circuit Court, of Adrian Kendall Bryant arising from the July 21, 2021, murder of a 17-year-old juvenile in Woodbridge, Va. The case had been set for a jury trial beginning Jan. 23, 2023.

In response to reports that Fairfax County withheld National Merit awards from students, thereby jeopardizing their scholarship opportunities, Gov.Youngkin asked the Atty. General to investigate Fairfax County's handling of 1,000+ students who were not notified of National Merit Awards. Now, the controversy has spread to 16 Northern Virginia schools, including Loudoun and Prince William counties, who delayed notifying students of their National Merit recognition.
