Virginia State Veterinarian issues Entry Permit for Santa’s Reindeer

Santa’s visit to Virginia may be brief each year, but it’s still vitally important to our state agricultural industry that his reindeer are healthy,” VDACS State Veterinarian Dr. Charlie Broaddus said. “It’s a privilege to issue permits for entry for Santa, and I hope he enjoys some fresh local Virginia milk and that the reindeer get plenty of Virginia grown carrots during their visit.”

The Prince William Department of Fire and Rescue and the members of the Fire and Rescue System have begun collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation. This year’s event will run through Dec. 14. New and unwrapped toys can be dropped at any Prince William County, City of Manassas Park or Manassas City fire station.

Upon arrival, the initial responding officer observed a man, later identified as the accused, carrying a child, identified as an 8-year-old girl, who was covered in blood, down the stairs of the apartment building. The accused was then seen putting the child on the ground where he proceeded to repeatedly strike her several times.
