In observance of Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, ACTS will hold a Memorial Vigil on Dec. 21 to remember those homeless who were lost this year, along with those who sought permanent housing.

A non profit group called Saving Loudoun’s Littles which first launched in the Fall of 2015, has now expanded to Prince William County with the September founding of Saving Prince William’s Littles, according to a news release.

Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center Foundation is seeking proposals until Oct. 15 from community nonprofit organizations that are working to improve the health of low-income and at-risk populations in greater Prince William County. Grant awards range from $1,000 to $20,000.

Nonprofits can apply by Oct. 13 for Dominion Energy grants up to $50,000 for essential community services such as housing, food security, medicine and medical services.

Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), a human services nonprofit organization that operates two emergency shelters in the greater Prince William area and one shelter in Fairfax County as part of its continuum of services, was the recipient of a $20,000 grant awarded recently by the Dominion Foundation, the charitable arm of Dominion Resources.
