One Sunday night a month, Pastor Matthew Smith takes a team from St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Manassas VA to Washington, D.C. to hand out meals, clothing and other necessities to people living on the streets. "We travel to the shadow of the nation's capital to people who can't or won't sleep in shelters at night," said Smith.

Christmas Eve service times were incorrect for Centreville Baptist Church in the Christmas church roundup on page 19 of the Dec. 14 Bull Run Observer. Four services were listed in the roundup. Correctly, there is one service at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

The ApologetiX band, now on its 20th anniversary tour, will stop at Gainesville United Methodist Church, 13710 Milestone Court, in Gainesville VA on Saturday, Sept. 29. "ApologetiX specializes in biblical parodies of classic and modern rock songs" and is suitable for all ages, according to J.Jackson, the band's lead singer and songwriter. Tickets at the door.

Sean Rousseau, a former Roman Catholic priest who was received into the Episcopal priesthood in 2011, will become the new priest-in-charge of St. Paul's Haymarket VA on Sept. 1, according to a news release from the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia.
