Saving a life is as easy as wearing a seatbelt: Motorists reminded wearing seatbelts is mandatory

The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

PW Police identify one suspect in burglary/attempted burglary spree on Aug. 2

On Aug.12, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Property Crimes Unit identified one of the suspects sought in connection to the series of commercial burglaries and attempted burglaries which were reported to have occurred in the Dumfries (22025) and Woodbridge (22193) areas on the morning of Aug. 2, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer.

Youth, 17, wanted for involuntary manslaughter after death of boy, 15

A 17-year old Fairfax County youth is now wanted for involuntary manslaughter, following the Aug. 18 death of a 15-year-old victim who died as a result of injuries sustained after being shot at a Dumfries home on Aug.12, according to an Aug. 19 report issued by Prince William County Police.

2013 silver Hyundai carjacked from Ikea loading area Aug. 16 near sundown

Victim was parked in the loading area when an unknown man in a black hat and face mask approached his 2013 Silver Hyundai Elantra with Virginia license plate: UGK-4004. According to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department, the suspect opened the driver’s door and brandished a firearm before demanding the victim exit the vehicle. When the victim got out of the vehicle, the suspect got into the driver’s seat and drove out of the area.

Woodbridge man charged with strangulation and assault and battery

On August 13, the suspect sought in connection to the assault that was reported have occurred at a residence located in the13200 block of Keystone Dr in Woodbridge (22193) Oct. 5-6, 2020 was arrested.

PW Health District to begin giving 3rd doses of Covid-19 vaccines on Wednesday, Aug. 18

Prince William Health District (PWHD) and other vaccine providers across Virginia are now offering third doses of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those with moderately to severely weakened immune systems (immunocompromised). PWHD's mobile clinic unit will be at the Prince William Fairgrounds Wednesday evening, Aug. 18 (5-8 p.m.) and again during the same hours on Thursday, Aug. 19.

PWC Fairgoers can get COVID-19 vaccine while at the Fair Aug. 18 & 19

Health workers will be at Prince William Health District's big white Mobile Clinic Unit that will be on-site at the Prince William County Fair this Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 18-19 from 5 to 8 p.m. to give COVID-19 vaccine to fairgoers who walk up with no appointment needed. The MCU will operate weather permitting or until the the vaccine supply runs out. There is no charge for the vaccine.
