Saving a life is as easy as wearing a seatbelt: Motorists reminded wearing seatbelts is mandatory

The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

On Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021 at 8:25PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Otis Ct. in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a domestic.

On Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at 4:22AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Food Lion located at 12420 Dillingham Sq. in the Lake Ridge area of Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm activation.

Police looking for a trio - two men, one woman - in armed robbery attempt behind business on Rt. 1

Upon turning around, the victim observed an unknown woman and two unknown men, one of whom was brandishing a knife towards him. During the altercation, the suspects attempted to take the victim’s property before bystanders intervened.

Most businesses in Prince William County must file Recycling Report by Oct.15

Businesses in Prince William County must now complete and file an annual recycling report with the Department of Public Works by Oct. 15 each year. Code changes that took effect in January 2021 moved the reporting deadline from Feb. 15 to Oct. 15. Homes businesses and businesses based in incorporated towns are exempt.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On Friday, Sept. 10 at 1:56PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Barrington Apartments located in the 10600 block of Blendia Ln. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting.

Man reports he was robbed after his hand was grabbed and his wrist was twisted

On Sunday, Sept. 12, at 2:54PM, Prince William County Police Department officers responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The 24-tear-old male victim reported to police that he was talking to a group of unknown men when he began to walk away.

Motorcyclist, 26, killed on Sept. 11

The investigation revealed that the operator of a 2001 Honda CBR 600F4i was stopped in the left westbound travel lane on Dale Blvd at the Hillendale intersection due to red traffic signal. When the light cycled to green, the operator accelerated and lost control of the motorcycle.

Health officials probe potential measles exposures in Northern Virginia

Out of an abundance of caution, health districts in northern Virginia are informing people who were at various locations listed below Sept. 3-9 during the specified time frames, that they may have been exposed to one of three people diagnosed with measles.
