Saving a life is as easy as wearing a seatbelt: Motorists reminded wearing seatbelts is mandatory

The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

Nighttime closures for Tanyard Hill Rd./Union St. for paving in Occoquan Oct.27-29

Tanyard Hill Road/Union Street between Old Bridge Road and Commerce Street will be closed to through traffic nightly, weather permitting, Wednesday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 29 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night for paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Police investigate fatal crash at Lomond South and Spotylvania St. in Manassas early Oct. 22

The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2020 Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound on Lomond South Dr. at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the center line, striking two unoccupied parked vehicles - a 2014 Toyota Sienna and then a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder.

Girl, 7, dies from injuries sustained in Oct. 12 crash in Manassas

According to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information supervisor, the investigation revealed that the driver of a 2003 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn on a yellow light from northbound Hoadly Rd onto Galveston Ct when the vehicle crossed paths with a 2005 Subaru Forester that was traveling southbound on Hoadly Rd through the intersection, also with a yellow light.

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at 12:36PM, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department's Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of James Madison Hwy. and Graduation Dr. in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer, said that residents reported to police that a gunshot was fired in the above area before two vehicles were observed leaving the area.

A resident reported to police that while inside the home several gunshots were heard before rounds entered the Woodbridge home. A police K-9 searched the area for any suspect(s) who were not located.

Police searching for family member in Woodbridge strangulation and abduction case

On Monday, Oct.18, 2021 at 11:51PM, Prince William County Police Department officers responded to the Haven Woodbridge Apartments located in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. Upon arriving at the apartment, Public Information Officer MPO Renee Carr said that officers located the victim, a 28-year-old woman, suffering from injuries to her face.
