Saving a life is as easy as wearing a seatbelt: Motorists reminded wearing seatbelts is mandatory

The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

Suspect charged in Jan. 17 homicide

On Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 the suspect sought in connection to the murder that occurred at the Raven Crest Apartments located in the 8100 block of Cobden Ct in Manassas on January 17 was arrested. The accused, identified as Maquan Omari MCCRAY, turned himself in at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.

Murder victim identified; police looking for Bristow man, 18

Prince William County Police Department homicide detectives are actively seeking the suspect sought in connection to the murder of a 37-year-old woman, identified as Mary Anne SMOOT, that occurred at the Raven Crest Apartments located in the 8100 block of Cobden Ct in Manassas Jan. 17.

We are aware that over the weekend Governor Glenn Youngkin announced a series of executive orders, including future modification to guidance on masks in schools. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) will also be issuing revised guidance. PWCS is evaluating both the order and anticipated VDOE guidance, along with local, state, and national legal requirements.
