The Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee has passed Senator Scott Surovell’s bill to ban the sexual abuse of animals, forced sexual contact with animals, the possession of animals for sexual purposes, and the production and distribution of materials depicting sexual contact with animals. The bill, SB 249, passed by a party-line vote of 9 to 6.

Victim of Feb. 1 fire in Dale City home dies

The man who was injured in Feb. 1, 2022, house fire in Dale City succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 2022, at the Washington Hospital Center, according to Matt Smolsky, Deputy Chief of Prince William Fire and Rescue. The victim was identified as Mohammad Bashir Kahn, 83.

Police investigate threat against school by 13-year-old on Feb. 2, 2022

On February 2 at 10:49PM, officers responded to investigate a potential threat of violence made towards Rippon Middle School located at 15101 Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191), earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that an unknown individual, later identified as the accused, posted threats of potential violence towards the school on a social media platform.
