The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

New commuter parking lot to open July 8 off Balls Ford Road near I-66

Virginia Department of Transportation will open a 433-space commuter parking lot on Monday July 8 to serve western Prince William County. It is on Cushing Road off Balls Ford Road and has a direct on ramp to eastbound I-66. Some restrictions apply.

Anger management classes through Prince William Cooperative Extension

Two series of Prince William Cooperative Extension's popular anger management course, "When Families Get Angry," begin in July. One course meets in Woodbridge. The other course meets in Manassas. Each course runs for six weeks on Tuesday evenings.

Congestion relief project for the I-495 Capital Beltway

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin a project that will help ease traffic congestion on the I-495 Capital Beltway in Fairfax County by converting a shoulder into a travel lane during peak travel times from Old Dominion Drive to the George Washington Parkway Interchange – a distance of 1.5 miles.

Possible measles exposure at Dulles Airport on June 7

Loudoun County Health Department is informing people who were at Dulles International Airport on Friday, June 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Concourse A or B, in the International Arrivals Building or in the Baggage Claim level of the Main Terminal that they may have been exposed to a person with measles.

Town hall meetings on community health issues; comments invited

Prince William Health District (PWHD) is offering residents the opportunity to influence public health priorities and help shape strategies for improving the community’s health through three Town Hall meetings--this week and next. PWHD is collaborating with residents, public and private organizations, local experts and coalitions" to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan that aims to create a healthier place to live, learn, work and play," according to a news release.

Part of Kincheloe Road to be closed for repairs June 18-20

VDOT maintenance crews are preparing to repair a failing portion of Kincheloe Road between Old Yates Ford Road and the Bull Run Marina Regional Park soccer fields. The road will be closed to through traffic/local traffic only for three days, between June 18th and June 20th, weather permitting.

Team effort by Manassas EMTs and Novant Cath Lab

On June 13, Fire and Rescue units from the City of Manassas responded to a call for service at a local urgent care facility. A 44-year-old male patient came to the facility around 2 p.m. seeking treatment for severe chest pain and needed to be transported to a hospital emergency room.
