Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn (D-Springfield) has introduced HB 1343, legislation Dec. 1 that requires the reporting of campus sexual assaults by campus and local law enforcement to the local Commonwealth’s Attorney within 48 hours of the reported incident. If passed, this legislation could expedite an investigation of the case.

Grant will help Fauquier Schools train 1000+ to respond to youth mental health issues

The US Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $100,000 grant to Fauquier County Public Schools for a project that will train more than 1,000 school personnel and community members to respond to mental illness in children and youth. Fauquier school division is the only one in Virginia to receive such a grant.
