Virginia offering new healthcare options for veterans

Virginia is the first state in the nation to develop provider agreements between Federally Qualified Health Centers and the VA through the Veterans Choice Program. To date, four Federally Qualified Health Centers, with 22 sites of care have signed up to provide health services to eligible veterans. By working with the Virginia Department of Health Division of Vital Records, DMV began issuing copies of Virginia birth certificates in March 2014. This summer, DMV will offer copies of death, marriage and divorce certificates.“More than 72,000 customers requested a copy of a birth certificate at DMV last year," according to a statement by DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb.
