Drivers are asked to monitor forecasts for changes or heavier weather bands that may impact their schedule, and to plan accordingly to telework, delay commutes or allow extra time for a slow and cautious trip.

Precautionary evacuation at Mullen Elementary in Manassas

The sound of a fire alarm sent Mullen Elementary School staff and students outside this morning in Manassas. After the precautionary evacuation, fire officials determined that steam in the school's kitchen had set off the alarm. All are safe and back in class, according to a news release from Prince William County Schools.

All Prince William County public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Work is continuing in an effort to reopen schools 2 hours late on Thursday, conditions permitting. Any changes will be announced by 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
