Police said the driver of a 2014 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Smoketown Rd. at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the northbound lanes, and left the roadway before striking multiple trees and catching fire.

A scheduled September 23rd visit by Governor Youngkin to Gainesville in Prince William County on his bus ‘The Spirit of America’ has been cancelled due to the Governor’s declaration of a storm emergency, a news release said.

This is an unusual storm, which has been difficult to accurately forecast, approaching large population centers with many at-risk communities.
