School of Practical Nursing at OPHS begins accepting applications Dec. 1

Students and adults interested in nursing careers are encouraged to check out the Prince William County Public Schools Practical Nursing program. The application period is Dec. 1, 2016 to March 15, 2017. The program prepares students to become a valuable member of a healthcare team working under the supervision of a physician or a registered nurse. The School of Practical Nursing is located at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas.

Quantico family displaced by fire in kitchen

On Sunday, Nov. 13, at 7:58 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to an appliance fire in a single family home located in the 200 block of Third Avenue in Quantico. Upon entry, fire and rescue crews discovered the fire had extended to the kitchen cabinets and immediately upgraded the incident to a structure fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
