Fauquier County Public Schools will participate in an earthquake drill on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 10:19 a.m. The drill is part of the sixth annual Great SouthEast ShakeOut, a multi-state simultaneous earthquake drill in which participants practice the recommended action to take during an actual earthquake.

19 people displaced and three townhomes damaged in two-alarm fire in Manassas Sept. 30

At 2:57 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, City of Manassas Fire and Rescue units responded to a two alarm fire in the 9000 block of McRae Court. Upon arrival, units saw fire showing from a middle unit to the rear of the house. In total, fire damaged three town homes. Fourteen adults and five children were displaced.
