Want to adopt a cat? Through June 30th, PWSPCA is offering a $45 fee to adopt any cat which includes a rabies vaccine, microchip, distemper combo vaccine and spay/neuter surgery (cats 1+ year). Cats are available at the Prince William County Animal Shelter (14807 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112) during normal hours of operation and on the Prince William SPCA's P.A.W. Express mobile adoption van on Saturday, June 23.

Prince William Board of County Supervisors and the Prince William County Police Department will conduct a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Charlie T. Deane Police Station on Tuesday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony, open to the public, will be followed by tours of the facility, at 5036 Davis Ford Road, in Woodbridge. An open house with demonstrations for the community will be at the new police station this Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In late spring and early summer bears are hungry and on the move in search of food. This primal need can cause them to conflict with homeowners and residents using parks and other unimproved areas. There has already been a sighting in eastern Prince William County.
