Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and while COVID-19 has everything locked down, there are still things people can do to celebrate the day.

On April 16, 2020. the suspect sought in connection to the brandishing that was reported to have occurred at the Holiday Inn Express located at 10810 Battleview Pkwy. in Manassas (20109) on April 12, was arrested.

On April 20, 2020 at 1:30AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of James St. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a fight.

According to MPO Renee Carr, PWC Police Department representative, the victim, a 46-year-old woman, reported to police that she arrived at the above address and located a family member, identified as the accused, under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for her 2-year-old daughter.

On April 20, 2020 at 4:41PM, Prince William County police officers responded to investigate a shooting that was reported to have occurred at the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) at approximately 4 p.m.

Nokesville United Methodist Church reports that it has a drive-through food pantry that is still open. Extended hours are Thursday and Saturday 10-11 a.m. and 6-7 p.m. through May.

People receiving benefits who did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment.

The Balls Ford Road Compost Facility, located at 13000 Balls Ford Road, Manassas, and operated by Prince William County's Solid Waste Division, will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, for paving of the entrance and convenience center.
