The Prince William County Police reminds motorists to ear your seatbelt every time because seatbelts save lives! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Dec. 1, 2024.

Va. State Police warn of phone scams aimed at registered sex offenders

Virginia State Police report they have been alerted to an alarming increase in phone scams targeting convicted sex offenders. The consistent theme among these scams has been phone fraudsters portraying themselves as a Virginia State Police sergeant and threatening the individuals into paying hundreds of dollars in gift cards to the caller, Va. State Police said.

The high cost of not wearing a seatbelt while driving or riding

Prince William County Police are running the annual safety "Click It or (get a) Ticket Seatbelt Campaign" through Sunday, June 6. It is the driver’s responsibility to make sure all children, age 15 and under, are secured properly. Virginia law allows police to cite anyone driving a car in which an occupant under age 16 is not wearing a safety belt or is not in a child safety seat. It also provides that drivers may be cited if they are not properly restrained if stopped for other violations.

Suspect in May 29 burglary held without bond; additional officers arrive

On May 29 at 3:09PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Winslow Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that he was inside his residence when he observed an acquaintance, identified as the accused, take rocks, and begin to force entry into his home through the sliding glass door.

Victims report machete brandished twice in US 1 road rage incident May 29

On May 29 at 3:39PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the intersection of US 1 and Squire Ln. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a brandishing.

Police report good neighbor struck and bitten in fire alarm incident

On Saturday, May 29 at 11:37PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Summerland Heights Apartments located in the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a fight with weapons. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 40-year-old man, went to his neighbors' apartment upon hearing the fire alarm.

Woodbridge man, 21, charged with abduction and burglary

The police investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old woman, and a 22-year-old male acquaintance were inside the home when they observed a second acquaintance, identified as the accused, drive into the driveway. The victim locked the doors however, the accused entered her home without permission.
