Ten people displaced, three homes burn after used fireworks tossed

Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office has determined the cause of a July 5, 2024 fire in Woodbridge to be the improper disposal of fireworks in a combustible trash receptacle stored Inside a storage shed, said Matt Smolsky, Fire Marshal. Ten people lost their homes when a total of three townhouses were deemed unsafe to occupy.

Car show is a Rohring good time

The 36th Annual Edgar Rohr Memorial Antique Car Meet on Sept. 17 drew a large crowd of vehicle enthusiasts, even though it wasn’t a picture-perfect festival day. About 150 owners drove or trailered their classic (at least 25 years old) vehicles to the show; most were parked on the Manassas Museum’s lawn. There were antique cars and trucks with owners ready to talk about their babies and why they are so proud of their classic vehicles.

Haymarket Day was Sept. 17

The 23rd annual Haymarket Day was Sept. 17. The parade through town began at 9:30 a.m. and lasted about an hour; the day wound down at 4 p.m. VA 55 was closed throughout the day as people meandered down the town's main street to visit vendors, ride rides, have a bite to eat and so much more.

Pantry food donations welcome on Haymarket Day

Streets will be full on Haymarket Day, Sept. 17. Ideally, this will help fill the shelves at the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry, which will be open and taking nonperishable and monetary donations throughout the day Sept. 17.
