At this workshop which will take place Feb. 1, from 1-4 p.m., brothers and sisters, age 8–13, can talk about the challenges and joys of having a sibling who has a disability.

Thirteen PWCS teachers who have received National Board Certification will be honored at a School Board reception on Jan. 28. Five of the 13 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) achieved recertification.

Thirty-one World-Class teachers have been nominated by school staff and parents for the PWCS Teacher of the Year Award and The Washington Post Teacher of the Year Award.

Students in Prince William County Public Schools will participate in the Annual King Day Celebration and Youth Oratorical Contest on Monday, Jan. 18 at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge. The event will begin at 11 a.m.

Virginia Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-1), whose district includes part of Prince William County, will be the guest host of the Dec. 30 John Fredericks Morning Radio Show. This will be Wittman's fifth guest hosting appearance. Among his guests will be Del. Richard Anderson (R) of Woodbridge.

Prince William County VA police detectives have charged two Manassas residents in connection with 20+ commercial burglaries that occurred August through October 2015 in Loudoun, Fairfax, Stafford, Prince William and Frederick Counties as well as Leesburg, Manassas and Fredericksburg.

Prince William County School Board will hold its annual organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 6 at 7 p.m. prior to its regular public meeting. Board members are scheduled to elect a vice chairman who will serve for one year; make appointments for clerk and deputy clerk; and establish the Board’s meeting schedule for 2016.
