Students to compete in MLK Youth Oratorical Contest on Monday

Prince William County students will compete in the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Contest on Monday, January 18 at C.D. Hylton Memorial Chapel, 14640 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge. The event will begin at 11 a.m. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend.

New ways to get news about House of Delegates’ committees

New technology software system will allow the public and all interested individuals to sign up for e-mail notifications for committee meetings. The House has also created a Twitter account for each committee and many subcommittees to allow the public to follow committee meetings from their computer, tablet, or smartphone.

PRTC proposes service cuts and fare increases to combat declining revenues

Public transit authorities are losing significant revenues with declining motor fuel taxes. Revenue loss for Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is a $9.2 million budget deficit that is forcing a proposed cut in commuter and local bus services, and a proposed fare increase starting in July.
