Governor Terry McAuliffe announced July 7 an innovation from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Department of Elections, enabling customers to apply electronically to register to vote at 74 DMV customer service centers and five mobile offices throughout Virginia.

Last year, Alok Gupta, M.D., and Kami Whitney, PA-C, at Arjun Medical Center in Gainesville, each took courses to improve their understanding of obesity. In December, Dr. Gupta became a certified obesity physician after successfully passing an examination given by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. This enables the practice to expand the services on an individual basis to its patients.

Karen Parkinson, coordinator of information for Fauquier County Public Schools, has received an Award of Merit for her writing from National School Public Relations Association. She received the award for a news release entitled “The Turn-About Teacher,” which detailed the transformation of Auburn Middle School teacher Ryan Wicka from troubled teen to successful educator.

On June 24 at 4:06PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Occoquan Rd and G St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle crash, according to a news release from Off. Nathan Probus, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.
