Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) and Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) have partnered to celebrate September as Virginia Spirits Month. This designation recognizes the commonwealth’s rich history of spirits and spotlights more than 100 licensed distilleries that call the state home.

DroneUp, LLC, a leading drone flight services innovator and aviation technology provider, will invest $27.2 million to expand its headquarters in the City of Virginia Beach and establish a testing, training, and R&D center at Richard Bland College in Dinwiddie County.

Based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) household survey data released Aug. 19 by the Virginia Employment Commission, Virginia added nearly 6,000 jobs in July. “With 100,000 jobs added since January, we are well ahead of pace to reach our goal of 400,000 jobs during my term," said Gov. Glenn Youngkin in a news release late Friday.

Debbie Jones, President & CEO of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, has been recognized with a “VACCE Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) at its Annual Awards Dinner during the group's 2022 Executive Leadership Conference Aug. 18.

MurLarkey Distilled Spirits will be relocating and expanding its operations within Prince William County. The project represents nearly $8.1M in new investment, 42 new jobs, and over the next three years will lead to an additional $429,860 (885,000 pounds) in purchases of Virginia-grown grains.
