Each year, with donations from business and community partners, SPARK funds a variety of innovative programs that enrich the lives of PWCS students, teachers, and staff. These programs are not normally possible. SPARK awarded a total of 34 Innovative Grants that directly affected 28 schools and departments.

Virginia Delegate Jackson Miller (50th District) has been honored with the Distinguished Advocate for Business Award by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. This award reflects Delegate Miller’s outstanding voting record on pro-business legislation, a news release stated.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced May 23 that producers of the upcoming political thriller Public Affairs have selected Norfolk, Virginia as their filming location. The project will star Adrian Grenier (Entourage) and Mimi Rogers (Hope Springs), and will be directed by Sundance alum and DGA-award winner Eric Bross (Restaurant). The film was written by Tom Cudworth (Restaurant).
