Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

USDA to survey Va. cattle operations Jan. 1-12

U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is surveying 900+ cattle operations in Virginia to provide an up-to-date measure of cattle inventories, Survey results are due out on Jan. 31.

Proposed changes for swimming pool construction in Prince William County

Prior to the 2012 Virginia Construction Code being adopted, the Building Official was primarily required to enforce requirements related to swimming pool safety barriers and swimming pool electrical requirements. Prince William County must now also enforce circulation design, diving water envelopes, new barrier requirements and energy conservation requirements, according to the county's Building Official. The comment period, procedures and time line are described below. Comments due by Jan.11, 2017.

Dominion Foundation supports homeless services with donation to NVFS

Existing steel business in Virginia to create 38 new jobs in Botetourt County

Canatal Steel USA, a subsidiary of Canada-based Canatal Industries and a producer of steel structure fabrication, will invest $1.5 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Botetourt County. The expansion project will create 38 new jobs, according to a news release.

NOVEC to return $3.1M in CashBack to customers in December and give power-cost credits in 2017

Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative Board of Directors has approved returning $3.1 million in CashBack to customer-owners during the December billing cycle. NOVEC will also give power-cost-adjustment credits to customers in 2017.
