Office of Facilities Services for Prince William County Schools will hold a March 9 public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gainesville Middle School to share information on a new location of the proposed 13th high school.

National Geographic Society announced the election of Dr. Ángel Cabrera to its Board of Trustees. Cabrera, president of George Mason University, joins two other new Board members named the week of Feb. 27.

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond ruled on Feb. 17 in favor of the Commonwealth's 30-year moratorium on mining uranium in the Commonwealth. The majority of a three judge panel found that nothing in the federal Atomic Energy Act preempts the state's ability to regulate and restrict conventional uranium mining within its borders, according to a news release from the office of Attorney General Mark Herring.

idX Corporation, supplier of global solutions for retail environments, will invest $7.2 million to establish its Virginia manufacturing operation in Spotsylvania County and will create 150 new jobs in the process.
