Electricity rate relief likely on the way, Gov. Northam says

Ralph Northam was quoted as saying Feb. 5, “This year, the General Assembly is rightly working to change the law to lift a freeze on electric utility rates that was originally devised to help utility providers cope with federal regulations that have since been repealed. The goal of that legislation should be simple: Give Virginians as much of their money back as possible, restore oversight to ensure that utility companies do not overcharge ratepayers for power, and make Virginia a leader in clean energy and electrical grid modernization."

Woodbridge and Stonewall students get leadership lessons from local fast food eateries

Students at Stonewall Jackson High School and Woodbridge High School are participating this year for the first time in a Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. The national high school leadership program engages students with an online Leader Lab exploring leadership themes such as visions and values, servant leadership, teamwork, innovation, communication and impact.

Businesses in Prince William County must file recycling report by Feb. 15

Section 22-169 of the Prince William County Code requires all businesses and other non-residential properties that produce trash within the county to report on its activities by February 15th of each year for the previous calendar year. Home-based businesses and businesses located within the incorporated towns of Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan, or Quantico are exempt from filing this report. Most can file online in about ten minutes.
