Local company to donate new emergency vehicle to regional American Red Cross

QMT Windchimes in Manassas reports that it is donating the purchase of an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) to the American Red Cross - National Capital Region (NCR), according to a news release from the company. The Red Cross will use the ERV to serve the Prince William County area.

On June 21, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., et al. that states may require out-of-state retailers to collect sales taxes, even if the retailer has no physical presence in the state.

Currently almost 50 percent of rural Virginians lack access to high speed internet and 29 percent don’t have any internet service at all. Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents part of Prince William County and Manassas, is trying to change that.

Students may get degrees by transfer of credits from four-year colleges to community colleges

“This bipartisan bill will make it easier for people to receive degrees that they’ve already paid for, worked towards, and earned,” said Sen. Governor Ralph Northam announced June 14 that Discovery, Inc., an American media company and a worldwide leader in real life entertainment, intends to invest $16 million to expand its global technology and operations hub in Loudoun County. Virginia successfully competed against Maryland and New York for the project, which will create 240 new jobs.
