On May 31, 2017, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Virginia Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, concluded a narcotics investigation involving prescription fraud and the distribution of prescription pain medications with the execution of multiple search warrants at Sunnyview Neurology located at 8609 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) and at a residence located in Herndon, according to Manassas Senior Police Officer Charles Sharp, city police department spokesman.

Virginia State Police is mourning the loss of its 63rd member to die in the line of duty since 1932. Special Agent Michael T. Walter, 45, succumbed to his injuries from a shooting shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday (May 27, 2017) at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
