How do you rate your child’s school and the education programs in the county? The Prince William County School Board wants to know. All parents or guardians of students enrolled in Prince William County Public Schools received a survey earlier this month. Due to school closings, the deadline to complete the survey has been extended until Friday, Feb. 5.

All Prince William County public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Work is continuing in an effort to reopen schools 2 hours late on Thursday, conditions permitting. Any changes will be announced by 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Manassas Park City Schools have announced they will be closed Wednesday, January 27th. Following city snow policy, there will be no Preschool or Extended Care.

U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) has introduced two bipartisan bills to provide relief to students struggling to manage record levels of college debt. One proposal would streamline income-based repayment programs; the other would allow employers to recruit and retain workers by helping to pay down student loans with pre-tax income.

In anticipation of predicted, but rapidly-changing inclement weather conditions, all Prince William County Public Schools, offices and facilities will be closed Friday, January 22. St. Michael's Academy, 14610 Washington St., Haymarket, has rescheduled its Jan. 23 open house to Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to the impending snowstorm this weekend. Open house for Pre-K-2 will be separately at a date to be determined.
