Osbourn High School team to appear on It’s Academic Saturday, Jan. 4

The Osbourn High School It's Academic Team will be appearing on the TV quiz show, It's Academic, on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, beginning at at 10 a.m. on our local PBS channel. The episode was filmed on Saturday, October. 26, 2024.

Pearl Harbor exhibit opens Dec. 7; first time model on public display - 20 years in the making

National Museum of the United States Navy will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in a special "Valor in the Pacific: A Remembrance" exhibition opening Dec. 7, 2016. For more than 20 years, historian Rev. Todd Hammond has researched and worked on an 8' x 12' model covering approximately five square miles of Oahu as was on the eve of the attack. This is the first time the model will be on public display.

Dominion customers should be aware of and never respond to threatening utility scams

According to Dominion Virginia Power, in 2015, scammers contacted nearly 2,800 Dominion Virginia Power customers, demanding fraudulent payments totaling more than $1.2 million. Hundreds of the power company's customers fell victim, paying nearly $200,000 in response to threats of immediate disconnection of electric service. Registration for spring semester starts Nov. 14 at Northern Virginia Community College

Open registration for Northern Virginia Community College’s spring 2017 semester starts Nov. 14. Students can secure their classes now while the most choices are available without paying tuition until Dec. 13. Starting Dec. 13, tuition is due by 5 p.m. on the next business day after registering.
