Nonprofit BEACON for English Language and Literacy is offering a new Learning Circles program to give adult learners a free opportunity to begin learning English on their own and with their peers starting Tuesday, April 18.

HB 1554, patroned by Delegate Emily Brewer and SB 943, patroned by Senator David Suetterlein, requires each public high school in the Commonwealth to publicly identify on its official website the faculty member responsible for special education transition planning and coordination at such high school.

Camp Woods and Wildlife is a unique field-based learning experience that introduces students to natural resource careers in Virginia’s largest state forest. Students get hands-on opportunities in all things forestry, wildlife and more, guided by natural resource professionals. Every camper selected to attend receives a $300 scholarship and pays only $95 to attend the week-long residential camp.

Prince William County Police are reporting that a student, age 14, at Freedom High School in Woodbridge, was arrested March 14, 2023 after being found in possession of two knives at the school.
