Isabel Lee, a freshman at Battlefield High School, is the high school winner of the Virginia Lottery Thank a Teacher Art Contest, according to a news release. After receiving nearly 1,000 entries, Va. Lottery chose elementary, middle and high school winners who will have their artwork featured on thank-you notes that will be distributed to thousands of teachers across the Commonwealth during National Teacher Appreciation Week May 7-11, 2018.

All PACE East students and staff will move April 2 into the Independence Nontraditional School, which is located at the corner of Joplin and Aden Roads in Manassas. These will be followed later by students and staff from the New Directions and New Dominion Alternative Education Centers.

Top band students from Prince William County middle schools are honing their skills for the upcoming All-County Middle School Band concert scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Stonewall Middle School. The concert is free and open to the public.

Prince William County School Board unanimously approved the FY 2019 Capital Improvements Program and school budget for $1.5 billion on March 22. The budget provides for a full-step increase for all eligible employees. The PWCS budget will be presented to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors on April 3. The Board of County Supervisors will consider it on April 30.
