The School Board of the City of Manassas has named Donald J. Frischkorn, Jr. as the new principal of Mayfield Intermediate School, effective July 2. The appointment was made during the School Board’s regular meeting May 22.

Belmont Elementary in Woodbridge celebrated its School of Excellence award and its 50th Anniversary at the same time. Special guests at the event included State Secretary of Education, Atif Qarni; State Senator Scott Surovell; Interim School Board Chairman Babur B. Lateef, M.D.; School Board Member, Alyson Satterwhite (Gainesville); and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Steven Walts.
