A 15-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge was charged with threats to school property found on Instagram and reported via a tip.

Newport News middle school teacher Chanda Woods is Region 2 Teacher of the Year

Chanda Woods, an integrated language arts teacher at Newport News Public Schools’ Crittenden Middle School, has been named the 2025 Virginia Regional Teacher of the Year (Region 2) by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Woods has been a teacher and a mentor for 26 years.
