Female, 13, arrested with knife on Beville Middle School grounds

On Halloween, October 31, 2024, at 2:46PM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Beville Middle School located at 4901 Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) was alerted to a student in possession of a knife. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in formal action and will be handled through the court process at a later date.

Students and adults may apply by March 15 for PWCS Practical Nursing Program

High school seniors and adults interested in nursing careers are encouraged to investigate the Prince William County Public Schools Practical Nursing program. The application period ends March 15, 2019.

Students at Westridge Elementary School in Woodbridge hosted an assembly to celebrate African-American history, where they shared stories and music from many aspects of African-American culture.

New school at 4060 PW Parkway named for the late PWC SupervisorJohn D. Jenkins

The Prince William County School Board unanimously approved a recommendation to name “Parkway Elementary School” after John D. Jenkins, who passed away after a long illness on February 6, 2019. The new elementary school will open in August and is located at 4060 Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.

Iqra Noor, a senior at Freedom High School, is the winner of the John D. Jenkins Youth Citizen of the Year Award, presented by the Dale City Civic Association.

David G. Brickley Youth Environmental Conservation Award goes to Aimen Khan, senior at Freedom High

Aimen Khan is the winner of the David G. Brickley Youth Environmental Conservation Award presented annually by the Dale City Civic Association. Currently, she is conducting research on invasive species, air quality, and energy sources in the Dale City area. She hopes her research will assist in the building of a local green house.
