Taste testers needed for Prince William County School Food and Nutrition Services' 23rd annual Food Show on March 7, with two sessions, 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at Patriot High School in Nokesville.

Registration is taking place now for an eight-week session that begins March 18 at Northern Virginia Community College. Courses in the eight-week session cover the same material and award the same credits as semester-long classes.

Jill Crayne has been nominated by the Stonewall Jackson High School community for the Prince William County Teacher of the Year Award and the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award. She teaches 135 students Computer Information Systems and Advanced Computer Information Systems at SJHS in Manassas.

Fourteen teachers have been nominated to become Fauquier County Public School’s 2013 Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher. Parents, school employees and community members were invited to nominate teachers at the school level, and then each school selected one teacher to forward as a nominee. The Washington Post Company Educational Foundation established the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award to recognize teachers who exemplify excellence in their profession.

Super Saturday is an annual service project, which provides free one-on-one assistance in completing the federal financial aid form for postsecondary education, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the form used by colleges, universities, and career-technical schools across the country to determine eligibility for student federal financial aid.

Two Wakefield seniors recently earned recognition from The Scholastic Art Awards, the nation’s largest, longest-running, and most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers in the visual arts, according to a news release from the school located in The Plains VA.
