The Osbourn High School It's Academic Team will be appearing on the TV quiz show, It's Academic, on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, beginning at at 10 a.m. on our local PBS channel. The episode was filmed on Saturday, October. 26, 2024.

Police investigate threat against school by 13-year-old on Feb. 2, 2022

On February 2 at 10:49PM, officers responded to investigate a potential threat of violence made towards Rippon Middle School located at 15101 Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191), earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that an unknown individual, later identified as the accused, posted threats of potential violence towards the school on a social media platform.

Public meeting on proposed PW Schools budget Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.

Prince William County School Board will hold a Public Meeting on the Superintendent’s Proposed FY 2023 Budget on Monday, Feb. 7, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Kelly Leadership Center, located at 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA. The meeting will be open to the public. Citizens must wear face coverings.

Scholarships especially earmarked for Unity Reed High School students

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia notes it is managing applications for several scholarships designated specifically for Unity Reed High School students in Manassas. For two of the scholarships the application deadline is Feb. 7, so hurry. For two other scholarships, the application deadline is later.

Dr. McDade issues letter on mask wearing at PWC Schools

We are aware that over the weekend Governor Glenn Youngkin announced a series of executive orders, including future modification to guidance on masks in schools. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) will also be issuing revised guidance. PWCS is evaluating both the order and anticipated VDOE guidance, along with local, state, and national legal requirements.

Micron engineer named to Manassas School Board

Abraham Iqbal, a Micron engineer, who is a graduate of Osbourn High School, has been named to Manassas School Board to fill out the unexpired term of Tim Demeria.
