William Patrick Pate of High Point, N.C. will begin his new job as city manager for Manassas on Oct. 28. He has been assistant city manager of the City of High Point, N.C., since 1999.

Citizens Police Academy starts in Manassas Park on Sept. 18

The 11-week Citizens Police Academy will begin on Sept. 18 in the City of Manassas Park. Through a series of lectures, field trips, and simulated activities, citizens will receive training similar to that of an actual police officer.

No injuries in crash landing at Manassas Airport

City of Manassas officials said no one was injured in the crash of a single-engine aircraft around 9:30 a.m. this morning, Aug. 22, 2013, at Manassas Regional Airport.
