On National Garbage Man Day, Prince William County’s solid waste division plans to recognize the men and women in the solid waste management industry–particularly, trash collectors–for the life-saving service they provide on a daily basis and urges residents to do so too.

Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development wants to know how people think federal money should be spent over the next five years. To find the answers, the office will hold two meetings on May 15.

April is “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals” month and, to help raise awareness, the Prince William County Police Department’s Animal Control Bureau urges residents to “go orange for animals” and learn what to do if they observe instances of animal cruelty.

In-person absentee voting for voters who live in Haymarket, Occoquan, Quantico and Dumfries starts tomorrow, Friday, March 21 and continues until Saturday, May 3.

The Public Hearing scheduled for tonight, Monday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. will be postponed until the next regular Manassas City Council meeting on March 24 due to the snow emergency.

March 20 discussions will focus on how some county and state agencies could use the existing Nokesville Elementary School, Nokesville Neighborhood Library could be expanded and office space could be offered for rent.
