Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Prince William’s County Executive announces plan to retire on Jan. 31

County Executive Melissa Peacor announced Dec. 1 her plan to retire after 30 years of service to Prince William County. Peacor's retirement will be effective January 31, 2016.

Acting county attorney becomes Prince William’s County Attorney

During a public special meeting by the Board of County Supervisors on Saturday, Nov. 21, Chairman Corey Stewart issued a directive for the Board's independent internal auditor, RSM, to conduct an inquiry into whether police are following the Board's direction and long-standing policy to report all founded illegal immigrant cases to ICE.

PWC Board of Supervisors to hold a special meeting Saturday, Nov. 21

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors will hold a special meeting at Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department at 7190 Yates Ford Road, Manassas, at 10 a.m. Billed as a "financial retreat, the Board will "receive information relevant to future decisions concerning the funding of government operations."

Scott Drive and Evans Street to be paved Nov. 17-21 in Manassas Park

City officials in Manassas Park report that the city has contracted with Branscome Paving, Inc. to resurface Scott Drive beginning Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Evans Street beginning Nov. 18. Both projects end next Saturday, Nov. 21. Paving work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No parking areas will be posted.

Woodbridge Supervisor Frank Principi welcomes new chief of staff

Jared Kupiec is joining Frank Principi's team as chief of staff. Kupiec, who worked with the Woodbridge District supervisor during his recent reelection campaign, has more than a decade of government, communications and public relations experience.
