County Executive Melissa Peacor announced Dec. 1 her plan to retire after 30 years of service to Prince William County. Peacor's retirement will be effective January 31, 2016.

Michelle R. Robl of Bristow, who has worked in the county attorney's office for 22 years is the new County Attorney for Prince William. The Board of County Supervisors appointed her Dec. 1.

During a public special meeting by the Board of County Supervisors on Saturday, Nov. 21, Chairman Corey Stewart issued a directive for the Board's independent internal auditor, RSM, to conduct an inquiry into whether police are following the Board's direction and long-standing policy to report all founded illegal immigrant cases to ICE.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors will hold a special meeting at Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department at 7190 Yates Ford Road, Manassas, at 10 a.m. Billed as a "financial retreat, the Board will "receive information relevant to future decisions concerning the funding of government operations."

City officials in Manassas Park report that the city has contracted with Branscome Paving, Inc. to resurface Scott Drive beginning Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Evans Street beginning Nov. 18. Both projects end next Saturday, Nov. 21. Paving work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No parking areas will be posted.
