Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Candland sets three info-feedback sessions with residents on county budget April 7-13

Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland will hold three meetings with residents in the next week to discuss the proposed Prince William County budget. The meetings are April 7 in Heritage Hunt, April 9 in Manassas and April 13 at the Haymarket Gainesville Library.

Hawk released at Silver Lake after being rescued by PWC park ranger

On the afternoon of Jan. 3, Karen Shumake, a senior park ranger with the Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation Department, heard police dispatch go out about an injured hawk located at the intersection of U.S. 29 and University Blvd. Immediately, Shumake realized that she didn't have a safe way to safely capture the hawk that could do real damage with its beak and talons. Fortunately, she got some help from a passing motorist and Steven Neff, a county animal control officer.

Seven displaced by fire at Boatswain Circle home in Woodbridge

Upon arrival, firefighters observed a fully involved vehicle in the driveway with fire extending into the garage and minor smoke damage to the master bedroom located above the garage.

Information meeting March 23 on widening of US 1 in Woodbridge

The public is invited to attend a citizen's information meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on March 23 to get input and discuss the proposed widening of U.S. 1 between Featherstone Road and Marys Way. The meeting will be held at Potomac Community Library, 2201 Opitz Boulevard in Woodbridge.
