City Manager William Patrick Pate announced May 20 that Robert Lee Clemons, Jr., a battalion chief with Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue, has been selected as Fire and Rescue Chief for the City of Manassas.

The PWC Bar Association is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The Association was founded on July 25, 1941 by seven attorneys who comprised the entire legal community at the time, all having offices in Old Towne Manassas.

Data centers now okay in all Prince William County industrial, office and commercial zoning districts; fast-track rezoning approvals for data centers within the Data Center Opportunity Zone will be promoted, according to action by Prince William Board of County Supervisors May 17. A Data Center Opportunity Zone was established for properties totaling 10,000 acres "where supporting infrastructure is readily available or easily provided with minimal impact to residential properties," according to the news release.

Heroin, along with other drugs, has caused an increase in overdoses and deaths here in Prince William County. Join Supervisor Jeanine Lawson, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and Prince William Police to learn how to combat the dangers of drug abuse in our community. Lawson's town hall meeting will be held Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at Patriot High School Auditorium, 10504 Kettle Run Rd, Nokesville.

Discover Prince William & Manassas held its annual National Tourism Week Luncheon & Industry Awards Event on Friday May 6th, at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. The annual industry award ceremony honors the contributions of individuals and organizations to the promotion and development of Prince William & Manassas as a tourism destination.

It was standing room only in McCoart Government Center May 6 as Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted 5-3 to keep a flat real estate tax rate at 1.112 per $100 of assessed valuation and to retain the existing revenue sharing arrangement it has with county schools.
