County Senior Center in Manassas celebrates 30 years of operation

Prince William Supervisor Marty Nohe said the senior center would not have been built if not for the foresight of the contemporaries of those who use it today. "It was your generation that was saying 30 years ago, 'We need this for our future.' Now you are here getting to take advantage of the vision."

Agenda for Jan. 24, 2018 Prince William Board of County Supervisors' meeting beginning at 2 p.m. has two times for citizens to speak– one in the afternoon and one in the evening. There is one public hearing at 2 p.m. and three public hearings in the evening session beginning at 7:30 p.m. - two rezonings and consideration of the Strategic Plan for 2017-2020. The meeting will be in the board chambers at 1 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, the main county government building off Prince William Parkway.

Senate Finance Committee to hear proposal Jan. 18 to change BPOL tax

The Virginia Senate Finance Committee will conduct a hearing during its Jan. 18 meeting that starts at 9 a.m. on proposed legislation (SB 836) that would require localities to base the Business, Professional and Occupational License (BPOL) tax on the Virginia taxable income of a business instead of the current law that gives a locality the option to impose the tax upon gross receipts or Virginia taxable income.

PWC Planning Commission sets Jan. 18 work session on Comprehensive Plan update

The Prince William County Planning Commission will be holding a work session on the Comprehensive Plan Update on January 18, 2017 at 7 PM in the Potomac Conference Room, 1 County Complex Ct., Woodbridge, VA.

Prince William Chamber's Economic Development Committee invites the public to its meeting on Monday, Jan. 9, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. to learn about a proposed amendment to the County Code Zoning Ordinance regarding live entertainment regulatory requirements.

PWC 100 forum Jan. 19: Is PWC prepared for an “active shooter?”

An Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people. In a confined and populated area, active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Often within 10 to 15 minutes, sometimes before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals and institutions must be prepared to deal with an active shooter situation. Committee of 100 is sponsoring a panel discussion Jan. 19.
