Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Prince William police officers deployed to Puerto Rico to aid with hurricane relief

Prince William County Police Department, in conjunction with the Virginia and Prince William County Departments of Emergency Management, has begun deploying officers to Puerto Rico to assist first responders in that area with the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Maria which devastated the area in September. Today, Nov. 8, the first rotation of eight officers will fly to the region for a 14-day assignment.

Catholics for Housing to purchase East End Mobile Home Park in Manassas

Manassas City Council voted unanimously Oct. 16 to enable Catholics for Housing (CFH), a Northern Virginia nonprofit group, to purchase the East End mobile-home park for $1.4 million as long as certain requirements are met, including resolving the significant water, sewer and management issues that have plagued residents for years, according to a news release from the Diocese of Arlington.

PW Board of Supervisors approves lease for off-roading at county park in Nokesville

Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently approved a lease agreement with Family Off-Road Riders of Prince William County, or FORPWC. and a special use permit to allow off-road vehicles at 25-acre Lehigh Portland Park, at 13865 Nokesville Road, in Nokesville. The organization will lease the 25-acre county-owned park and will finance, clear, build and operate an off-road vehicle riding track on 14 acres of the park.

Mental Health Awareness Event for 12th year on Oct. 11

Prince William County's Community Services Board will host its annual afternoon of Mental Health Awareness at the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. to educate, inspire and dispel myths about mental illness.
