More people riding commuter and express buses in Interstate 66 corridor, new report shows

Commuter and express bus routes in the Interstate 66 corridor are showing significant increases in ridership due to tolling and new service funded by the I-66 Commuter Choice program, according to a new report released June 18 by the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC). Bus travel times are more reliable too, the report said.

Incentives offered to ride public transit instead of a private vehicle on Dump the Pump Day June 21

When you "Dump the Pump" and hop aboard OmniRide public transit this Thursday, June 21, you and a friend could win a free SmarTrip card or a Starbucks gift card! On June 21, OmniRide will join public transportation systems across the country in marking the 13th annual national Dump the Pump Day. On that day, people are encouraged to ride public transportation instead of driving a private vehicle.

Second left turn lane opens–easing traffic backup at VA 234 and Hoadly Road

​Drivers on Route 234 should start to see traffic improvements around Hoadly Road. The Prince William County Department of Transportation recently completed a project that added an additional left-turn lane from Route 234 onto Hoadly Road.

Everyone invited to annual International Cultural Festival in Woodbridge June 21

Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association and Prince William County Supervisor Frank J. Principi announced June 14 that the 3rd Annual International Cultural Festival will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 21, at the Dr. AJ Ferlazzo Government Center Atrium in Woodbridge.
