The Woodbridge Civic Association, working with George Mason University and the Prince William County Library System's RELIC Program, is embarking on a six-month effort to record the oral histories of Woodbridge residents. The recordings will eventually wind up at the Library of Congress as part of the library's "StoryCorps" project, which gathers firsthand, recorded accounts of the events in the lives of people from across the country.

According to research recently released by the U.S. Travel Association and the Virginia Tourism Corporation, Prince William County is experiencing sustainable expansion in tourism revenue year after year and the county ranks ninth in total visitor expenditures in Virginia when compared to 133 independent cities and counties in the Commonwealth.

Community members and elected officials gathered together Sept. 11 at the Prince William County Liberty Memorial to remember and honor those lost on Sept. 11, 2001. The brief ceremony marked the 17th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and the plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pa. Chairman of the Board of County Supervisors Corey Stewart spoke during the ceremony and said the pain of that day remains, but Americans endure now as they did then.

Governor Ralph Northam sent a letter to Del Kirk Cox, Speaker of the Virginia House House of Delegates on Sept. 7, urging him to request that the Court begin to redraw the 11 unconstitutional House of Delegates districts so that Virginians will have constitutional lines enacted in time for June 2019 primaries, according to a news release from the Governor's Office.
