Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Gov. Youngkin orders US and VA flags flown at half staff after UVA shootings

Flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia will remain at half-staff over the state Capitol and all local, state and federal buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in respect and memory of the victims of the University of Virginia shooting, their families, and the Charlottesville community until Nov. 17 at sunset, as ordered by Gov. Youngkin.

Va. Dept. of Education gives out $12 million in school security grants, but none for local schools

Schools in Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County were not among the 431 schools in 90 school divisions receiving state grants to pay for voice and video internal communication systems, mass notification systems, security card access systems, visitor ID badging systems, surveillance cameras, two-way radios, security vestibules, interior school bus cameras, two-way radios for buses and other security enhancements.

On Nov. 11, 2020 detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Special Victims Bureau concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County between Aug. 1 and Nov. 11, 2020.
