Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Prince William County to advertise tax rate at $1.122

Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted March 3 to advertise the real estate tax rate for Fiscal 2016 at $1.122 per $100 of assessed value, a 3.88 percent increase over last year’s average residential tax bill.

PRTC will hold public hearings in Woodbridge and Manassas next week to present its proposed Fiscal Year 2016 budget and accept public comments about the plan that calls for curtailing some services, raising fares and applying for federal grants. The $68 million budget is austere because of financial limitations, according to Christine Rodreigo, PRTC spokesman.

Lawson’s and Trenum’s March 2 town meeting CANCELED

Jeanine Lawson, Brentsville District supervisor, and Gil Trenum, Brentsville District member School Board Member, have canceled their town hall meeting for tonight Monday, March 2, at Gainesville Middle School, because Prince William County Schools are closed today. The naming committee for the new "Devlin Road" Elementary School will meet at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18 at the Kelly Leadership Center.
